Hercules sound card- minor WMP audio problem...

  theDarkness 23:43 01 Feb 2005

I have just installed a Hercules 5.1 DVD sound card for my pc, it runs great on all programs except for windows media player- if I stop my mp3s from playing at any point I will hear a constant stutter before they end.

Its the same when switching from one track to the next when they are playing, although if I leave the album to play completely on its own the player is fine with no sound problems. I have definately uninstalled the built in AC97 sound, and was using directx9c with WMP9. I am now back to WMP8 as it doesnt stutter on tracks so much, but its still there to a slight degree.

I have only ever had problems with WMP on this sound card- everything else on my pc is fine, and unfortunately Hercules dont update their drivers much, so the one on their website is the same as what I received on disc with the card.

Is it just a weird WMP/VIA motherboard/Hercules driver incompatibility I have to put up with?
