If IE can't connect, try connecting directly via Control Panel - Network Connections (Right click on your connection and select "Connect")

If you are in UK you can telephone 0870 601 0100, this is the Microsoft Campus in Reading, Berkshire - they can help re Registration.

May also be worth checking your connection networking properties to ensure TCP/IP is enabled. As Gongoozler suggestion, but after right clicking, go to properties and select the Networking tab, make sure that the tick box against Internet protocol (TCP/IP) is selected.

Also, how do you normally connect? via Broadband/Dial-up, Router/Wireless or Modem?

Things to try - In IE (if on Broadband) go to Tools>Internet Options>Connections and make sure "never dial a connection" is checked.

If using a Router, reset Router by disconnecting it from Power then wait ten seconds, then re-connect Power to router.
