i recently change my processor from a athlon 2500xp to a athon 3200xp, the computer works but on the start up menu the computer say that i still have the 2500xp in the computer, does this mean that the computer is treating the processor like the old 1 and it is no improvement, can i change this at all???

You probably need to go into the bios at start up and change the processor there.

Your 3200+ needs a FSB setting of 200Mh, whilst your 2500+ needed 166Mhz

They both have a multiplier of 11.

In the BIOS you will be able to change the FSB from 166 to 200.

ive look atthe bios and the only thing i can change is in the advanced chipset feature then in the dram clock/drive control, then the dram clock which goes up to 200, is this it?

Yes that sounds like it but to be sure what motherboard do you have?
