Hi, I have the choice between 2 transcend SD cards.

1) 8gb at class 6 speed, or
2) 4gb at x133 speed

Which is faster? A class 6 or x166?

They are both about the same price

Thanks

oops correction - x166 should be x133

x133 is faster - But, I understand that no cameras yet exist which are capable of handling x133, even though the cards are available at the moment. Such cameras are expected to become available at some time in the future, but not known when.

PS - Class 6 is currently the fastest usable card.

I said Class 6 is the fastest *usable* card. As far as I know there are as yet no cameras that can take advantage of the faster x133 cards.

My knowledge may be a bit out-of-date in that since I last looked, a couple of years ago, newer cameras might be able to use the x133 cards. That is something I may have a look at - simply to add to my Personal Knowledge Base.

If you know of such a camera, able to use x133 cards, perhaps you could tell me!

thanks for your help!

I bought the 4gb one. I guess there wasnt much in it, but I dont really need 8gb anyway.

The extra speed may help - I dont just use the card for photos.... I use to move data around on my laptop too.
