help on SpywareQuake and atmclk.exe

  dalev 14:08 15 May 2006

hello everyone, i just recently joined this site for 2 reasons. 1.I currently own a Dell Inspiron 1200 Notebook. and 2.I have done nothing at all to get atmclk.exe in my C:/WINDOWS/system32/ directory. Its some annoying adware thing that automatically installed itself, almost anonymously! My problem with it is that it CAN be removed, but it will just come back. I also keep getting popups saying stuff like, "Your computer is infected, Click here to remove malware". One more thing.....don't even mention spy falcon, that was automatically installed somehow too. Would a firewall be necessary? If anyone could suggest a program or anything that could help, I would honestly be very greatful. I just got my lappy and now this garbage attacks me.

atmclk.exe is a file process that belongs to SpywareQuake. You must be able to remove this Spyware to be able to get rid of the process, otherwise it will come back again and again.

atmclk.exe is indeed a spyfalcon infection.

I suggest you download HijackThis from here click here it will be in a zip file so you need to unzip it and put it in its own folder on the C Drive, open HijackThis then click the button 'Do a system scan and save a log file' then post the results on the Malware removal forum via this link click here

The good folk there specialise in interpreting hijack this logs and can remedy your system if malware is the problem.

install spywareblaster and spybot, update and apply protection/immunisation. keeps lots of this sort of thing at bay click here
won't stop everything, but very effective all the same

I have just downloaded Prevx1 (see my link)It looks a serious piece of kit, and it it free until 28 days after it finds spyware, or may 2011 which ever comes first. Worth a try I would have thought, and it definately lists SpywareQuake for removal.
