Help required Identifying startup entries.

  Meshuga 10:43 28 May 2007

Having gone to Start,Run, msconfig and Startup, I find a number of entries which I can`t identify. Can anyone help please. They are as follows.
ccApp C:\ program files\com
Lycomsx C:\Windows\System
Logi_Mwx Logi_Mwx exe
MSASCui C:\program files\WIN
RNMAIL C:\program files\ RN
E_SOBIC 1 C:\Windows\System
Schedhlp C:\program files\co
Which of the above can I safely Untick please so that I can try and eliminate one that might be the cause of a startup problem.

Why not untick one at a time and see if everythings ok,you can allways re tick them if required, you should have your antivirus in there so identify it,and leave that ticked

Good morning Meshuga
Have a look at Winpatrol
not only will it tell you what each item is but you can disable rather than delete to find the culprit.
I believe there are many on this forum who use it and it has certainly never caused me any headaches.

tullie, One of the problems is that I cannot see anything that represents my Antivirus prog, hence the question. Otherwise I would have done as you suggest. Thanks for your reply.

ccApp is Norton.

Also Startup Inspector
will tell you what is essential/optional/not recommended/not required etc.

  Meshuga 10:55 28 May 2007

Good morning to you cocteau48, thank you, I will try that.

VoG, Thank you, I thought the "cc" referred to crapcleaner. Thanks again.

Lycomsx? -

SNDmon - that appears to be a live update tool from Symantec but i've
never seen that particular exe. Looks more like a sound card volume tool.
Better keep it.

logi_mwx.exe (Logitech Mouse Driver) - Details
The logi_mwx.exe process is required for all of the features of your Logitech mouse (or trackball) to function correctly. You should not terminate this process unless it is causing serious problems for your system.

Microsoft's Windows Defender Antispyware program.

Rnmail -

Do you have an Epson printer?

is a part of the Acronis True Image application. It is part of the scheduler. This process should not be removed to ensure that your data stays protected.

When you open Startup, hover cursor on vertical line on left of "Location", drag to the right and you will be able to read better what each line is
