You did install drivers?

  ICF 19:43 01 Mar 2007

Does that card have an extra power connector on the card itself?

  skidzy 19:50 01 Mar 2007

And to add to ICF,you may need a bigger psu.I would be looking for a 500watt+

  simon123 20:05 01 Mar 2007

yes installed drivers that came with it

yes it has a separate power connection and comes with a splitter lead which i have installed and checked that card fan is running

400w psu not big enough?

  skidzy 20:09 01 Mar 2007

Im no expert on graphics cards, but maybe its a power hungry card.Thats why i suggested a bigger psu.

You havnt knocked any of your ram while installing the card ? check the ram is seated correctly and clipped down.

had similar problems with same card, had forgotten to un-install drivers for the old card an ati 9200.

the makers state minimum psu of 300 watts. upgraded mine from 380 to 500 watts. 7600gt now works. i think the main problem, in my case. was the driver conflict.

have pulled card and re-installed old one

have uninstalled new drivers and have downloaded set from nvidia website

will reinstall new card with these drivers

have noted advice on website to disable anti virus software when installing and will try that

will update if it works

  simon123 12:07 02 Mar 2007

have now tried everything with drivers and no go

have decided to upgrade psu to 500w

is there anything to look out for or are all psu's the same?

If you like your games,go for a heavy branded model.
Plenty out there to choose from,Dabs/Ebuyer/Pc world etc...
