Help please - I've turned my touchpad off somehow!

  Never again 20:22 18 Jan 2007

I have an old elonex soliton pro laptop running windows xp professional which was given to me.

I've got it wireless networking with my router eventually, and in my quest to explore it without a manual I must have turned the touchpad off, probably by pressing a combination of keys.

I have had to plug in a ps2 mouse to use it.

I checked if there were any bios settings to change back and it appears that I can only enable/ disable a mouse.

There are no touchpad utilities in control panel, and I am not as familiar with this operating system as I am with XP.

I feel such a twit.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Probably Fn + another key.

If you should discover how to get it back will you post how you did it ? I would like to be able to switch my pad on/off cos it can IMHO be a right pain if you`re doing a fair bit of typing. ie you can very easily touch it unintentonally and muck up your input. I have an Inspiron 8600 in case someone else may have the answer to my wee query.

I've tried all the Fn + numbers but they don't seem to work on this model.

I am told that Fn + 7 is the usual cure.

Try Fn + F7, thats what it is on my acer

I meant to say Fn + the Fnumbers

That I said I was running xp - I meant Windows 2000 Professional.

Sorry for the mistake.

Installing click here

And try Fn+Fx again
