If you have various viruses on the system,you may have a big problem trying to clean it up.

If the computer is almost unusable i would recommend a reinstall of windows.

However,if you wish to try and clean this computer,i would urge you to run HJT and post the scan log at MWR.

HJT = Hijackthis click here

MWR = Malwareremoval

Under no circumstances tinker with the results of the scan,you may do more harm than good as this will list many genuine entries that are needed.

Hi, most of the free programs should be able to cope with the cleanup.
For an interesting read to show this

Let's try that link again.

Your link seems dead here in Firefox and IE7

My point in recommending HJT and MWR and letting the experts handle and advise accordingly is that if multiple viruses do exist,it will take specialised tools to totally clean the registry correctly,due to some reinventing and reproducing upon reboot once cleaned.

Yes,granted the freeware may well clean up the bulk,but i doubt it will clean totally if badly infected.

If you have not had the computer long and have a way of restore to factory condition. That's what I would do. Then load a AV before you start using it on the net
