Hi all, brother is running XPhome with 256mb of memory and pc is begining to slow down. So I want to help him upgrade his memory.

I've attempted to use the Crucial memory scanner but it did not work. I've also tried the Kingston, find your pc via manufacturs list but couldnt find pc on the list.

After running Belarc, I have the following details:

PC MODEL:
HP Pavilion, 061 PS257AA-ABU a808.uk

MOTHERBOARD:
MICRO-STAR International.Co.LTD
Gamila\Giovani\Neon Series 030

Bus clock 133mhz

BIOS:
AWARD Software 3.21 11/04/2004

CPU: (2.53 ghz)
Intel Pentium4 (2.53 ghz)

any help with what memory can be put in my brothers p will be very much appreciated.

many thanks,

Mike

could be PC100/133, but just take out what is installed and look at it, usually written on itwhat it is

Looks like the old standard PC133 memory, depending on how many slots that are available.

DOUBLE CHECK

It looks as if the a808.uk uses ddr sdram PC3200.

There should be no way that a pentium 2.53 cpu with a 533Mhz bus should be running old style pc133 sdram.

run cpu-z click here

That will tell you everything about the memory, even when it was made.
