Hi everyone.I have had to start this thread again because I'm still none the wiser!
My pc has the following spec;
Pc Chips 841LR mobo.
2000xp Athlon
512mb 2100 DDR SDRAM
Seagate Bara 40Gig HHD
Me o/s
Bios is auto configured and board jumperless. 'best performance' is selected on bios.

The system runs fine with no bluescreens or problems but the system info shows only a FSB of 66Mhz. It should run at 133Mhz. I have been told that this would drasticly affect performance.
What would cause this problem?
Does it sound like a bios update required?
How do I do that?

Please help.

There's usually little jumper switches on the motherboard and you set them in a configuration as stated by your MOBO manual. Failing this there may be an area in the BIOS where you can change the FSB there.

As Elrond says, if you enter your BIOS and select 133mhz then save and exit, all should be fine. J.

The Bios is jumper free except to clear the bios.It states that any jumpers that appear on your mobo is for testing only!
Under 'CPU PnP setup' I can change the CPU speed to 133/133 but when saved it still only shows 66Mhz on sandra.

If your BIOS tells you that you're set o 133MHZ i'd be inclined to believe that and not Sandra

  Djohn 17:49 18 Jan 2003

Again I agree with Elrond, *Sandra* does make mistakes.

Yes. I would like to think that as well but 2001 benchmark also shows 66Mhz!!

What about my bios being OOD? it has 29/01/02 release date.

DId you build this PC or was it a package. If the latter, then the components will be compatible to the mainboard hance the BIOS release shudn't be your problem

installed the latest mobo driver(s)? If PC CHips uses VIA chipset then you may need the latest 4in1 driver from VIA.

What does Sandra show as the CPU speed ?
