Hi

I want to get a laptop that will be at least equivalent to my desktop but dont know where to start.
Desktop spec as follows;
Athlon xp3000 FSB 333
2 gb DDR 333
128mb ATI graphics card
xp home

I know getting one with XP is now very hard so it will have to be Vista, but whats the diferance between home basic and home premium. Also I know vista is very powere hungry so would 1 gb of memory be to slow compared to 2gb in my desktop. or dose the increased FSB speed compensate for it, and the same goes for the CPU.

You may find its not as hard as you might think to get a laptop with XP on it. Don't call of the search for one at least, because many people are unhappy with Vista.

With XP you won't need such a high end machine to get it running smoothly.

If you google 'laptop xp' you'll get lots of choice. I've chosen this one for you: click here

However, a friend has ordered one of these click here, it's a discontinued model but a very high, albeit Vista, spec.

One of my friends bought a laptop last week from click here.

They have around 20 store selling laptops. He said you can compare prices of laptop from there.

He bought it from Laptop direct .co.uk

You can also try with the link as above

'because many people are unhappy with Vista'..change 'many' to 'some'.
