Help with .exe file please

  rosie12 12:30 05 Sep 2005

Hi, I have a small programme on my computer desktop which I use as lot with no problem. When I tried to e-mail it to somebody they said outlook would not open it because it had a .exe extension. Is there any way I can change this extension?. or if I can't does that mean I can send any .exe files?......Thanks in advance

Just use something like "WinZip" (click here) or 7-Zip (click here)to "archive" the file

Programs with Exe extensions get blocked by e-mail programs as they can be viruses. If you friend is using Outlook Express they can switch it off by going into Tools, options, Security and uncheck, Block Any Attachments That Maybe Viruses.

Or try zipping the file with WinZip click here and sending it.
