I am thinking of buying a PC one is a Dell XPS 600 which has the following processor in it Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor 950 Dual Core Processor (3.40GHz, 800MHz, 2x2MB cache).

I am also considering a Evesham PC which has a AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ processor in it.

I Mainly use my PC for DVD work (encoding dvd etc) which can be a heavy task for some PC's, but I want as well faster overall performance, could anyone help me in deciding between the two. My budget is not limited.

From what I have read AMD chips are considered faster at all round tasks but Intel ones are better at video work like encoding DVD's.

Thanks for helping me Grantrh, as I do quite a bit of dvd work encoding, I would say that the Intel processor I mentioned would be the best choice for what I use my PC for.
