Help cleaning an infested laptop

I have been given a freinds laptop with the task of removing the nasties that have gotten onto it.

It has Mcafee security suite running, but this was unable to remove any nasties as they were "write protected"

I have installed and run Spybot, Trojanhunter & A squared and I am currently doing a scan with AVG free edition. The university provides sophos so i can try that next.

The main one is a popup box saying the computer is infected and takes you to a site for Spylocked, which i haave my doubts about.

So far i have found but been unable to remove:
BGUAVA.exe
CWR.exe
bpvol.dll
Zlob.jqo
laficb

What other good freebies are out there that i can used to try and get this laptop cleaned up?

Regards

Ms

Thanks for those suggestions, i will give them a try. I think her problems may be that she had both AVG and Mcafee installed together, but i have sorted that out. I will have a chat about basic securty when i return this to her!
