Help Budget Gaming PC Build

  Kwazza 19:42 22 Aug 2014

Hey so I'm wanting to build a gaming PC for playing games like BF4 in high resolution and reasonable settings but am a bit of a novice so was wondering what everyone thought of the components I've listed out. As stated the aim for the PC is to be around £500 and this will include windows 8 at about £80 and i already have a dvd rewriter that i am able to use.

click here yeah i was wondering if these would be suitable and if i require anything more on top, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately the resident 'Gamer' building PC expert is unavoidably removed at this time. Hopefully he will re-appear again and this time not irk the ire of the mods. Doesn't take much but seems of a character that can't 'bite his tongue' unfortunately. So I would try the Games site for further advice I think. Mr Mistoffelees will help I'm sure if he sees the post, or any other gamer here.

Kwazza: you're asking us to do an awful lot of clicking through links to help you... A list for us to look at would be very helpful.

rdave13: what happened? What did I miss? Not the artist formerly known as Chronos II - again?

Ian in Northampton , what can I say but yes again.

Looks a reasonable enough build to me for your budget. Get the graphics card while it is still on special offer as that is a very good price. However, for BF4 I would suggest you see if you can buy something more powerful. Take a look at this site and note your choice of graphics card is a just a little less powerful than a 7870.

Mr Mistoffelees , thanks for joining and giving your usual good advice.

Hear that Meck?

rdave13/Mr Mistoffelees: thanks. Silly boy... And, as always, a big loss to the forum. Can you tell me what happened, without incurring the wrath of the FE?

I dunno: you don't visit the site for a few hours, and all hell breaks loose...

Well , with apologies to Kwazza , for a slight hijacking, Chronos replied to FE with a , ahem, slightly disrespectful load of uppercase zeds. No foul language or anything else, just a load of upper case zeds. There was no need for it but that is what happened. Clash of characters and a great pity in my very humble opinion. The forum suffers for it I think.

Well, I'm guessing - unless the FE has his IP logged - he'll return as - who knows? - MechKB3... Unless he's taken the hump, which would be a shame.
