I have recovered a hard drive from another PC and installed it OK and use it for file storage. I would however like to install an Operating System on it (I have old Win 98 & ME disks) and use it for internet downloads so that I keep my master disk free of any dodgy files. My main disk runs XP Home. Can anyone tell me if I can do this and how to do it please?
Can't give you any specific advice on this, but yes you can do it and if you get hold of the latest January Issue of Computer Shopper, they have 'Paragon Boot Manager 5' full free version on the cover disc, which will help you achieve this.
Yes it can be done, two operating systems. one on each drive with the option to choose which one you want to use being given at boot-up. Try a search for dual booting, it should bring up many threads explaining how to do it. Regards. j.
