Currently I'm running:AMD Athlon 1000MHZ20GB HDDAti 9200SE GFX CARD (DVI)640MB SD-RAMI've sorta maxxed my current PC to it's limit!and I want to upgrade to:Intel Pentium 4 3.2GHz Prescott Skt478 FSB800Gigabyte GA-8S648FX-RZ MoBo512MB DDR RAMBUT...I want to keep my existing HDD without re-installing anything!I would also keep my GFX card.Is this possible????
Which OS are you running on the existing PC? Why dont you just save your data and do a fresh install? A lot less complicated.
No you will need to reload. As the Motherboad Will be different and IDE etc drivers will all need to be reloade with the new board
I'm running XP Pro - I can't re-install because I don't have the CD - it was pre-installed.Can't I just put the old Hdd in the new PC???
You can try it but don't think you will have any go, plus you will have to setup XP again with Microsoft, as the configuration will have changed

Thanks alot! That should work, although it looks very complicated I will read through it a few times and then do the swap. Thanks again
