Headphone problems

  FranksWildYears 19:43 07 Jan 2010

I recently upgraded my OS from XP to Vista. My headphone jack has since stopped working. Its a 3.5mm jack on the front panel of my pc. I'm prompted that the 'device is working properly' when checking its the headphones properties.

I've updated the driver for my soundcard which is a Soundmax card.

Does anyone have ay idea of what I can try next? Should I be replacing the jack even when it apparently working?

I recently had this with my laptop , when you click on the volume icon mine showed the old icon as it didnt remove its self on reboot. make sure the new driver is the only one on your system.
