i just got a lead from my dvi on my graphic card that goes to hdmi on my television but dont work do i need a program or any thing else
Have you made the necessary changes to the display settings on the PC?
In the TV Options/Menu (or similar wording)there is usually a setting to select HDMI as the input. Otheroptions are Analogue, Digital and the like.
what settings do i need to change on my pc
You’ve ticked the topic as resolved, so I assume you’ve found the settings on the TV menu. You don’t have to change any computer settings.
Adding a second display, which you do by connecting to a TV, often requires changes in the Display settings on a desktop or pressing F5 or similar on a laptop.
I think you must have an early/oldish HDMI-enabled laptop. All I do is plug in the HDMI cable to both the laptop and the TV, turn on the TV, select Input Select and choose HDMI.It was, of course, different with the older VGA D-pin connection.
No response from dwhiteley in what looks like a related thread click here, that was posted after this one. G
The OP does not have an HDMI enabled laptop. He has one with a DVI output and is using a DVI - HDMI lead to connect to a TV
