HDD or Bios problems

Hi every one
I have thinkpad laptop with win xp pro,my problem started when i formated the hard disk,now the bios does not recognise the HDD plus every time i try to put the cd-rom first, the HDD second then the removable drives third then press the F10 , the BIOS keep putting the removables drives first??please advice how to fix

If your hard drive is not being recognised by the BIOS, then of course it will put any other removable (cd rom)drives first.

Have you tried putting your XP cd in the drive and then starting the laptop, you may then get further options presented to you.

1- i have three options cd-rom,HDD then removables drives and I have dissabled the third option and put it to third but still when press F10 and start again removables drives comes first option?
2- when inserting XP pro CD I get the massage no operating system found OR no HDD found.
3- Iam going crazy

If the hard drive has a SATA interface, did you load the SATA drivers (press F6) from a floppy disk when instructed to do so during the installation process?

What's the model number, is it an IBM or Lenovo Thinkpad?

Removable drives include - USB floppy drive

Do you have one? if so boot from a windows 98 boot disk.

Does F12 give you the option to select the boot device?
