I use XP Pro and have Zone Alarm,AVG, Ccleaner and EWIDO, but have been told that there will still be dregs on the HDD from internet use.
What is the best way to clean them out??
I seem to be installing more and more protection, is there no end to it all.

There is no single way to remove the dregs as each application (AntiVirus/Spyware) will find different faults.

In addition to the stack of apps you have, try using this. It has worked very well for me.

You have all you need, although I would get rid of Ewido and replace it with Spyware Terminator which is free and offers real time protection.

If you feel the need to check any of your programs you can either do it on line, or download on the day. No need to clutter up you compyter.
