Have PC World fiddled me?

  algernonymous 20:34 01 Sep 2007

I recently bought an e-system notebook from PC World advertised as having a DVD+/-RW drive which I assumed was a DVD writer. However this evening I tried to write to a DVD and got the message 'No CD in drive' So it's just a cd writer/DVD player. Has it been advertised correctly?

What is the model number of the laptop?

Nero InfoTool will tell you what the drive is capable of; click here

Which model?

No need to check the Label you first read. and take not of the actual wording

I certainly wouldn't think that PC World would "fiddle" any customer. Give them a ring or better still take the laptop back and explain the problem.

one of the few that are advertised and it clearly states having a DvD ReWriter Multidrive.
I would think it is more likely a software issue...

Nothing on it under PC World but in click here it says

" ...it comes with a DVD rewriter multi-drive already built into the system."

So going by the spec shown in santos7's post would you assume it had a DVD rewriter? I don't have the original ad (it had to be handed in as a discount voucher) but I don't want to be fobbed off when I go there.
