harddrive problem

hi, my harddrive has started to make a clicking noise is this a sign that the h/d is about to fail, also the pc is running slow any ideas?

If the drive is starting to make noises you haven't heard before then back up everything immediately.

Not necessarily, It may have bad sectors that it's having trouble reading so first run Scandisk in Safe Mode. After that you should run SFC /SCANNOW from the Start/Run if XP with XP disc in comp. If Win98 it's just SFC
