how do I install a new harddrive

  €dstow 10:39 06 Feb 2003

If you don't have instructions with the drive itself, look on the manufacturers website. It will reveal all.

I've put numerous hard drives in my machines and my knowledge of the inside of a computer is limited, to say the least. It's not difficult at all as long as you take care, pay attention to what you are doing and connnect the correct plugs in the correct places.

Take anti-static precautions when you open the case and are handling the hard drive, sainthelener. Technically, it's not very difficult to install a new hard drive,(see above links) but if there's a lack of space inside your case, it can be fiddley. Disconnect the tower and lift it up on a bench were you can see clearly and let plenty of light in and just take your time.
