Hi Guys

I have just bought DiamondMax Maxline 250Gb 8Mb Cache Serial ATA Hard Disk Drive SATA150 but for some reason neither my laptop or my PC are detecting in a way that allows me to use it i am using XP and to conect to both machines i am using a USB to IDE external connection, XP says i has found new hardware but i can't view it in the My Computer icon. Altogether i 3 hard drives already installed and a dvd burner all are working fine, i have tried to install the drive on the desktop by removing one of the other dires but the BIOS and XP wont recognize it

Please help

Does your motherboard support SATA

I didn't think that a SATA drive would connect to an IDE socket.
