How old the Laptop? Is it sata or EIDE drive? You may be going too far with a 100Gb I upgraded mine from a 30Gb 4200rpm to a 60Gb 5400RPM both Hitachi drives. Also if you are XP with usb2 then a External will make up the difference. I Plug a 200Gb in to my Laptop partitioned into four

my laptop is a 3 years old and the hard drive type is ATA , 4200rpm

They do sell them but you may not get it to run without a Bios flash upgrade. Make sure it's not a sata when checking. You could check what size drive it will take with the Manufacturer

well i no that it can take 80gb because i saw one on ebay once, so what do u think now

As I said above go to what you know it can take, then by external USB drive to make the size up if you need more room

You will get better value if you Buy one. Instead of by one
