I want to add extra storage to my PC, what is my best option?

1 250GB IDE drive

2 250GB SATA drive and SATA PCI controller

3 250GB External Drive connected by USB 2 or Firewire 2

Which drive will be the fastest. I will be transfering Video from a digital camcorder to the new drive.

Hi Ç̧ÇØ. From what I've read, the SATA drive is POTENTIALLY the fastest system, but the state of the technology at this time is that SATA and IDE are not much different. The main advantage of SATA is that the thin cables offer less restriction to air flow. I think what determines drive speed for large files is really the rpm figure.
