hard drive space re data disc

  frostypug 21:41 03 Feb 2009

I have noticed that on my computer I have a data drive that I never had before. To my knowledge I only have a c drive and my external drive.
this data drive seems to be using a lot of space and duplicates what is on my c drive
Do I need it as I seem to be using a load of space on my hard drive which I cannot account for

  frostypug 22:23 03 Feb 2009

  frostypug 22:26 03 Feb 2009

I have used system restore yesterday, don't know if it is anything to do with that

  woodchip 22:28 03 Feb 2009

Sounds like Raid setup

  frostypug 22:32 03 Feb 2009

What is that
It is taking up 5.6 gb anyhow. Also how can I tell how many and what they are processes running. I seem to have loads

  frostypug 09:41 04 Feb 2009

When I open the d drive it says it is empty yet when I hover over it, it says it is using 5 gb?
anyhelp please

As woodchip has said, it sounds like a RAID setup, but if you have only one hard drive, that can be ruled out, so it's something else.

What is the make and model of your computer?
Did you install another internal drive?
Which operating System are you using?

  tullie 09:59 04 Feb 2009

Isent it the restore partition?

  frostypug 10:01 04 Feb 2009

I did ask woodchip what a RAID set up is? as I don't know.
It is a ACER ASPIRE T671_PB74 No I did'nt install any other internal drive and I am on Vista

To tullie. What is a restore partition. I did'nt set it up though So did system restore do it?
