Below is the SiSoftware Sandra report for my hard drive. For some reason it's not showing as SATA II.
Any idea what I can do to fix it?

The HD is a Caviar SE16 250GB S300 16mb
MoBo: GigaByte GA-965P-DS3

look at page 4-16, section 4.3.6 of your motherboard manual. You will see that SATA drives are configured as Standard IDE.

So the bios is just telling sandra your configuration in the bios. The drive is still SATA and will perform to SATA specifications.

You should really read and digest the motherboard manual. It's there to help you.

Thanks for that quiller. My manual has gone AWOL but I couldn't see that info in the pdf manual on the Gigabyte site.

My other concern is that, according to SANDRA, the drive supports UDMA-6 but UDMA-5 is currently active. Also, when comparing the speeds in SANDRA, the benchmark shows that it's speed is similar to the ATA100 scores and below SATA300 and ATA133.

Is this normal or is there something amiss?

Many Thanks.
