Hard Drive Query

Hi,

I am considering buying a new HDD to replace an old slower one I have now.

I would like to get a SATA 200GB one from the Maxtor diamondmax range but after looking on the maxtor website I am still confused as to which model is best.
Does the diamondmax 9 have better performance than the diamondmax 10 ?
and what difference does the + make in the model title?
Eg. is a diamondmax 10+ different from a diamondmax 10.

It's no good buying a SATA if your motherboard does not support it

Thanks woodchip but my motherboard does support it and also I have 2 SATA power leads from my PSU.

If you print out the two pdf files you'll be able to compare them side-by-side.

The DM10 is a tad quieter, has a tad wider temperature ratings, has "improved" electronics, and best of all the 250Gb version has a 16Mb buffer option (which will improve performance a little)

Just what you'd expect - the DM10 is a little bettewr than the DM9 specwise.
