Hi Folks.

I have an old hard drive thet went down, not quite sure why.
It failed to boot ( had blue screen of death and all that, then faild.

I have a few pics and vid`s of my kids when babies on it and would like to get back.

could I plug it in to my computer and prevent any contact ( isolate it ) so I could scan for virus and other infections before any transfer of information to my other hard drives ?.

hope you know what I`m talking about.

Many Thanks.
Mr edd.

I don't see why not, you have nothing to lose by trying though it may have died! However simply set the jumper to slave and conect to the centre ide conection on the ribon cable to your present drive (if is has one)and then conect one of the spare power leads.

You should be able to scan the drive for virus after connecting as slave, before copying any files.
