Hard Drive Icon in folders has been changed

  jabisfab 12:58 27 Oct 2004

I installed a card reader which works fine, but since then my D: drive icon in My Computer folder has changed. I cannot find how to get 'change icon' to work with this partition of my hard drive.
It's very annoying as the new icon that has been used looks nothing like a hard drive more like a boiled sweet.
Any ideas any1?

If you use XP have you tried a system restore.

I had this recently, the cause was one of the files on the drive. The hard drive was using that file's icon. Moving it somewhere else cured it. Might be worth a look, depending how much is on the drive.

Check there's no file called 'autorun.inf' in the root of your D drive - I believe you can set an icon for hard drives the same as you can for CDs.

Cheers ventanas and Gaz W, both an icon file and an autorun were resident in D: so have dealt with them and my D: icon is back to normal.
