Hard drive has lost its "Letter"

My desktop hard drive can't be addressed as it has lost its "Letter".

When you start to boot up it goes as far as the Windows screen and then recycles back to the beginning again and again and again etc.

I have access to the floppy drive and can bootup from there. Is there any way that the "C" address can be restored without re-formatting?

btw XP Pro

Try looking in ControlPanel> Admin Tools > Computer Mangement > Disk Management and designate a drive letter from there.

PS. you need to right click on the drive if it's showing and select "Change drive letter"
