Hard Drive Error

  Sibbo 22:06 06 Nov 2004

This morning, when I tried to access my 2nd hard drive which I use to back up my data I was met by the following error "D:\ is not accessible The disc structure is corrupted and unreadable". Does this mean that I have lost everything? (about 35GB of invaluable data etc.). Is there any way I can retrieve this via recovery software etc? TIA

Is you o/s XP and have you tried a restore?...TT

Have you tried a defragment recently?

My OS is XP Home. System restore has no effect, and the drive did not need fragmenting 2 days ago. Now disc defrag does not see the drive.
