Unless you are going to store lots of videos, photos, music, 80Gb (or even 40) will do. Although there's not a major price increment in going up the scale though. See click here

Also consider making a partition of about 30G as your C drive and put only OS and progs on it. Put all data on the D partition. Buy an external usb hd and a copy of True image to back up your C drive as an image. You can also use the ext drive as 'belt and braces' to back up important data
