i have one 8ogb hard drive with windows xp home on an a 1 gb with win 98 but i cannot get both hard drives to work in the same computer. my 80gb is the only one with the jumpers on the back need to use 98 because some games only work on 98 and not xp

If it has no jumper, it must be a master or cable select. You can try to connect old HDD to second HDD cable as mater. As it is old HDD, you may need to manually set it up in bios.
