Anybody know how Partitions are set up on a new HDD.

This will probably be wrong but we've got to start somewhere.

C = the Whole disk.

C = Outside Sectors. D = Inside sectors

C = Outside Sectors. D = Middle sectors. E = Inside sectors.

If this is correct, then the optimum would be to load your OS and perhaps MS Office on the C Drive. Occasionally used programs on the D Drive and use the E drive for file storage.

A gamer would try to load his Game on the (C) Outside Sector.

There is also the Manufacturers Hidden Sector to consider. Where is it?

Of course this whole assumption may be wrong. Discuss!
