Hard disk enclosure

I have ditched an obsolete desktop computer but kept the hard disk. I intend putting it in an enclosure and using it for backups. Is there a general view on the best brand of enclosure in terms of robustness, reliability and ease of use?

This one is superb, but it's not cheap.

You certainly do not need anything expensive if all you are looking for is to connect it to another PC. I have an enclosure but I also use something like this Ebay which enables me to connect IDE, Sata 3.5 and Sata 2.5 to my PC.

As for an enclosure take your pick.Ebay 2.

If you have an e-sata port on your PC I'd consider getting a caddy with the connection as well as USB.
