This article from Microsoft explains the differences between dynamic and basic disks. I don't see any reason why you should need to worry about reverting to a basic disk.

Many would like to help you but need more details of your computer.

Is it a Desktop, Laptop, Notepad, or what?

What is its operating system Windows or Apple Mac?

If it is Windows, what version 8, 7, Vista, or XP?

Your hard Disk, is it fixed inside the computer, or is it a separate thing which you can plug in when needed.

Are there manufacturer's names or anything else which you can describe?

Oh Boy!

You can see from what ancient experience I have, and Yes I am still using XP!

Ignore my post.
