Hard Disk

I've deleted "Plus Hardcard II" as it had a yellow ! next to it in device manager. Conflicting hardware comes up when selecting to add new hardware wizard. I think I might need to get rid of the conflict as my machine is only recognizing 1 of my hard drives (C). Please help!

1. reboot to BIOS to make sure both drives recognised in BIOS.

2. On CMOS screen press F3 or similar key to recognise drives

3. save and exit BIOS.

4. reboot see if drives appear in windows

..this or do I have to contact the guy who built the PC for the CMOS password?

I got the password for BIOS and pressed F3, I then saved & exited & it's still not recognizing all hard drives in explorer. Do I need to do anything in bios after pressing F3? Could you give me step by step instructions as I'm a novice! Thanks

Were both hard drives recognized in BIOS?

Were both hard drives recognized in BIOS? what size are your hard drives? especially the one not recognized.

How are the drive connected IDE cables or external via USB?

Are the jumpers set right and the master on the end of the cable (slave in the middle)???

Just a thought

Is this a laptop

  woodchip 15:54 17 Aug 2004

It's just the name "Plus Hardcard II" if it's a desktop is it thinking that it is a laptop

The drives are connected by IDE cables inside the tower which I haven't touched. I'm not sure if BIOS is reading the other drives, in "IDE HDD AUTO DETECTION" it says "select Primary master Option (N=skip): and a flashing N. Underneath this it has the following
Options Size Cyls
2(y) 41170 5005
1 41176 19710
3 41163 2463

a couple of other columns then

doesn't mean much to me! Thanks

No it's not a Laptop.
