I have a Dell Latitude C510 running XP Pro. If I shut the lid when it is running, which should put it into hibernation. I open the lid, it boots up but then hangs. I have to turn the PC off manually.
An update on this problem, it only does it when its in the docking station. Any ideas someone please?

Driver update? Which one motherboard, docking station, graphics, BIOS I'm not sure.
I've done all the latest updates. The problem has only started since I replaced the hard drive. I've checked that out and all seems ok.
Struggling a bit here but is the hard drive correctly identified and reported in the BIOS. Maybe the docking station drivers(?) have a problem with the drive. You could also ask Dell or post the problem on their forum but be prepared to wait a long (long) time for an answer.
I've just taken it out of the docking station, shut the lid and the problem is still there. So I'm a bit stumped. Thanks for the advice.
