Graphics card without a power connector

Hi

Need to replace my terrible 7500LE graphics card with something that will stand casual gaming, video work etc - usual stuff.

The limiting factor I have is power - running a 300w PSU, so I'm looking for a card that does not need a seperate power source, and can draw directly from the board.

Looking at the GeForce 8600GT (think the 8600GTS does nned additional power) - does anyone know of a better card that does not need additional opwer?

Thanks

I have a lowly GeForce 6600 (PCI Express), so no extra power needed. But I still have stonking graphics, running FSX DeLuxe at all Ultra-High settings. I think it is not just the graphics card you should be thinking about, but perhaps improving your CPU and RAM for improved graphic capabilities.

AGP or PCI Express?

Can't help but the guys would need to know what type of card to recommend anything.

Thanks all

Sorry, T-B should have included that. It's PCI-E

The Radeon 3650 might be a good choice. They use very little at all (they don't need additional power) and have all the latest features. It's slightly newer than the Nvidia 8600GT, and the benchmarks also suggest it's a little faster.

If you have a normal sized atx case a better psu would give you more options. It is easy to change a psu.

What about a 7600GT? Great PCIE card, can be found cheaply. You are right in thinking that the 8800GTS requires a seperate power connection, and your PSU would not be up to the job of running it anyway.
