Have installed all drivers, downloaded all new drivers and i don't get any missin file notices anymore but i do get this

"The NVIDIA setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit"

Can i ask where you are downloading the drivers,is it the nvidea site or the card makers site?
The reason i ask is i have searched a bit on google and found that drivers for this card can be a bit erratic, especially the nvidea ones so people seem to suggest downloading the reference drivers from the card makers site rather than the nvidea site.

have downloaded from NVIDIA site and from MSI site. doesn't seem to make a difference :(

  ACOLYTE 15:52 31 Mar 2006

Have you tried installing the driver that came with the card off the software cd?

  gudgulf 15:54 31 Mar 2006

Could you specify which drivers you downloaded....and where you downloaded from?

Also what version of Windows are you using? What motherboard/cpu/memory?

You say on your previous thread it's a new build....did you install the motherboard chipset drivers?

As much information about the build and spec as possible would help us sort this out for you.

okey dokey. gimme 10 minutes or so to round up information

  Fogstar 16:19 31 Mar 2006

Operating System
Windows XP Media Centre Edition

Motherboard
ATI Radeon Express 200P RK480AS9-A58X (Drivers: Chipset drivers from CD and Catalyst 6.3 Windows XP - Motherboard/IGP Drivers from ATI website)

CPU
AMD Athlon 3200+ Venice (Socket 939)

RAM
2x512Mb Corsair

Graphics Card Drivers

CD Drivers plus;
66.77 drivers from NVIDIA website
81.98 drivers from NVIDIA website

5303 (MSI Version)
5663 (MSI Version)
6121 (MSI Version)
6172 (MSI Version)
6177 (MSI Version)
6672 (MSI Version)
6681 (MSI Version)
7772 (MSI Version) all from MSI website

The 81.98 are the only ones that produce the "Setup will now exit" notice but none of them remove the exclamation mark from the VGA Controller on the Device Manager, or indeed, make the VGA port work at all

  Fogstar 16:20 31 Mar 2006

sorry i meant to say the 81.98 and the 7772

It seems to me you are installing nvidea drivers for an onboard ATI card?unless i have read it wrong.Did you disable onboard graffix when u installed the nvidea card?

  Fogstar 16:24 31 Mar 2006

no sir and now I am embarrassed. sounds simple, how would I go about that then please?

  ACOLYTE 16:28 31 Mar 2006

I am not exactly sure you have onbaord graffix i have to admit i dont fully understand the info you posted,so i can only advise you wait for a second opinion.
