Graphics card - PCI or PCI Express x1

Can anyone help me?

I have a Dell PC & want to install a graphics card. The machine only has PCI & PCI Express x1 slots.

I found the following options:
32MB PCI Express x1

I understand the PCI is slower than PCI Express x1. So does the more RAM in the former make up the difference? All I know is that the PCI option is cheaper

What's the best option?

I have not heard of a PCI express 1 slot graphics card. they are usually PCI-e 16X.

have you got a link to this card please?

Ah a google gives click here

is it something like that?

PCI Express is abbriviated to PCI-E.

I think the 'x' factor can be ignored here since it is only a reference used for high speed RAID cards and network cards found in servers.

I belive this is correct but as I am by no means an expert will be happy for someone with more knowledge to correct me.

The X is the multiplication of the bus as in a 8X AGP card.

So a 1X bus should be 33mhz bus or standard PCI speed

and a 16X bus will be 16 X 33 = 528Mhz bus.

Oh and 57 bus should take you to the cemetery gates.:)
