Graphics card makes computer monitor go off?

Hi im having a very annoying problem. My pc has an ATI Radeon 9250 256mb AGP graphics card and since last month a really annoying thing has started happening. It's like when i play games for around 10 mins the monitor of my computer sometimes turns off or the screen goes blank and i hit the windows key and alt + F4 to close the game then an error comes up from ati about the vpu or something. Then it tells me to restart the computer and if i dont, everything moves around slowly like when i drag windows around. Im guessing its overheating but the weird thing is its been fine for months and i never had this problem. Im not sure why it suddenly started happenning now. I tried reinstalling the drivers / updating the drivers and even reinstalling windows. Im running XP Home SP3. (it was happening with SP2 also)

Please can somebody help.

You need to check the fan is working properly and is not clogged up on your graphics card.

Download HWMonitor and run it. click here It will tell you your graphics card temp.

Try ATI Tool click here If you cant get a temp reading then that could well be your problem.
