My daughter bought home a graphic's card for her Dell Dimension 3000.
I tried to install it for her and it does not fit. I might sound dumb here but are they more than one type and whinh is the common one?

Hi, generally Graphics card would go into the AGP slot on the mobo - some mobo's (older ones) may not have a AGP slot, in which case a PCI graphics card would be needed.

Cheers.

In order of age - PCI, AGP and most recent pci-express. The most common is still AGP but newer pc's are moving to pci express even though theres hardly any speed advantage at the moment.

Me again - I have just had a look at the Dell 3000, it does not have a AGP slot, so you need a PCI graphics card - you have probably got and been trying to fit a AGP card. Otherwise Dell 3000 has on-board graphics.

Cheers.
