Google map additions

I want to add Google maps to a website I am currently building - it's my first and I am a real novice!
I found out how to do it from this forum.
The reason for adding the map is to show "we are here". Is it possible to take just one view of my town and add a pointer? I dont need all the Google Maps facilities, just the map.

I used multimap click here

I searched using the postcode and it then gives you a link option. You can then use the link or it gives you code you can embed in your web page so the map itself displays. This includes the red circle to identify the place.

I went for embedding - the result is click here

Thanks - that's exactly what I wanted. Now I have to experiment with it.
Thanks for taking the time.
