Hello Everyone,

Does anyone know how often Google Earth (satellite) if ever? I don't mean software here, I mean not still seeing football grounds ehich have long since been demolished.

Updated data inclusion varies, but on most GE satellite pics the date taken is shown.

Google purchases images from several agencies.

If you look at the bottom of the screen as you move around the copyright changes to reflect the image source, and on my version (build 5.0.11337.1968) the date of the image (year) is shown in the bottom left of the screen.

The images are updated as and when new ones become available, for instance the City of Manchester Stadium only appeared a couple of weeks ago, despite being opened for the 2002 Commonwealth Games, Google Maps only showed a building site until recently...

It says most of the imagery is 1-3 years old.

Yet where my elderly parent lives in Cornwall it is 2001. I'm sure they will get to it but much has changed in that time.

Thanks, everyone. Alan14, it is interesting that you referred to the new Manchester City stadium. My query was prompted by seeing City's old Maine Road stadium still on view.

Thanks again,
