Google Desktop Search and Memory

On my machine GDS (Google Desktop search) uses a massive 179mb of memory! Is this a standard amount of memory for this program to use?!?! This usage of memory seems insane!

Surely, this cant be the normal operation of GDS?

I have just installed Google desktop search and have come to the forum to see what others think of it.
My initial comment would be that it takes a long time before deletions are indexed out.
I entered a non sence word in a file GDTS found it but it also found it when I had deleted it.
Also interested in your comment regarding the size of the memory it is using.
How did you discover this memory size.
Also now that you have been using GDTS for a little time what are your findings or have you un installed?
Appreciate your thoughts

I certainly prefer it to the Google version.
